Super Mario Sunshine

Still playing Super Mario Sunshine, it is quite addictive, with some very hard levels. I don't know how many more levels I need to complete.

I have finally finished Kororinpa on the Wii. Oddly enough the game shows that I have only completed 49% of the game content. Which leads me to believe I have to complete all the levels below the "Gold cup" times.

I have played a bit more C & C 3 and Supreme Commander on the PC. Oddly enough I can not seem to join an online game with Supreme Commander. Or it could just be people are booting me as I am an unknown player, with no statistics.

Lots of Action

I have been playing a small number of games over the Easter Break. Played a bit more Supreme Commander, Command and Conquer 3 for the PC. Battalion Wars and Super Mario Sunshine for the Gamecube.

Command and Conquer 3 is quite good, they are getting back the original idea of GDI v's NOD. The game harkens back to the original which I remember playing back in 1995 when it first came out as a DOS game. The cut scenes are interesting with actors from Lost, Starship Troopers and I am sure other shows/movies.

Super Mario Sunshine is quite fun, some of the levels are quite hard, but all in all a great game. I can't wait for Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii. Battalion Wars was a steal at $29.95 at 'Toys are Expensive'. The game is quite easy to play, but a little harder to master.

I haven't had so much fun in such a small amount of time.

I don't think I will get back to Fire Emblem in a hurry as it is the kind of game I can pick up again at anytime.

Supreme Commander

Started playing the Supreme Commander on my PC. I will be playing online soon with friends. My first impressions is that the game isn't all that great, I think TA was a better game. But since it only cost me $35 via zest I can't complain that much. I have been told the game is best played using two monitors. One for the tactical map, and one for the close up action. I will have to dust off the 15" LCD someone gave me and hook it up and see.

I haven't been playing all that much of Fire Emblem, I may have to remedy that.

Fire Emblem

It has been years since I have played a really good turn based combat game. Fire Emblem is so much fun to play, mind you it also is quite hard. I have found some characters are quite weak, and the computer seems to like hammering them. The game reminds me of my Uni days playing those old TSR games like Pools of Radiance, or Secret of the Silver blades.

Like those older games "battles" can take up to an hour to finish, but I feel I have accomplished something at the end. On the down side the mage/cleric units have very limited use (so far anyway). Also the combat machanics are simplified quite a bit compared to other turn based combat games.

A review I read for the game stated 40 hours is the average game time to complete. So it looks like I will be playing this one for a while yet.

Another One Bites the Dust

I have finally finished Starfox adventures. I was dissapointed with the last bit. I was very tacked on, and a bit of a let down. I was waiting for the big battle against General Scales.

Now I am playing Fire Emblem : Path of Radiance, I got it from Cash Converters for $37 back in Decemeber. Good value considering it came with the original reciept showing someone had bought it for $99.95 at EB in Launceston, Tasmainia on the 30th Januaray 2006.

Kororinpa

Played Kororinpa on the Wii, not a bad game but I get the impression it was rushed to be finished. The game play is good but the game is far too short I have already completed 30 of what I think are 50 levels. It was interesting to watch other people play the game.

Still playing Starfox Adventure on the Wii, currently the game info shows I am 49% through the game. It is a decent RPG, not as good as Windwalker but still quite good.

Played more Battle Engine Aquila on the PC, some of the levels are quite hard and require quite a few attempts to complete.

Oddly enough I had a couple games (takes hours to complete a level) of 10th Anniversary Settlers 2. The computer is still as dumb as ever, so really I just play it to pass the time while waiting for web pages to load when viewing my weekly does of web commics.

Star Fox Adventures

I have almost collected all the treasures in Pikmin 2, I have taken all the weapons from the final boss except for the poision weapon. Note to self when finishing the last boss needs HEAPS of spicy sprays (like 60 or more !)

I played a bit of Battle Engine Aquila on the PC. Finished a few missions then went on to play Star Fox Adventures. I am really enjoying this game, it is quite fun.

Zelda Finished

I finally finished Zelda, the last boss was hard. I am again playing Pikmin 2 on the Wii. I am starting from scratch, this time around I am going to attempt to collect all the treasures.

I decided to dust off the old Settlers 2 10th Anniversary edition and played a few hours of it on the PC. I don't know if I will get into it any more as I have already played that game to death back when I was at Uni.

Final Darkstar One

I have finally finished Darkstar One, the end was quite easy. In fact it was easier than some of the previous missions. Overall I think it was a great game, I don't think I will play it again in a hurry.

I played a little Teken Tag with Ben on Friday.

More Darkstar One

Still playing Darkstar One, I have noticed the game crashes quite a bit, shooting asteroids seems to be part of the problem. Also I experience massive slowdowns when fighting lots of pirates at once. I suspect the game engine can not handle to many objects.

Finished the Air temple in Zelda Windwalker, now back under the sea and just finished the 4 "boss levels" again. Reached the portal back to the surface. So I must have something big to fight soon.
